Dr. Güney is a co-founder of Ulysses Advisory Group. She was trained as a molecular biologist and holds a B.S. degree from Xavier University of Louisiana, and a Ph.D. from Brown University, where she studied the molecular mechanisms of cancer and cellular aging.

Dr. Güney worked previously as a postdoctoral fellow at the Dana-Farber Cancer Institute, Harvard Medical School, implementing cutting edge molecular tools for the identification of novel therapeutic targets for the treatment of advanced prostate cancer. Her investigations were supported by the United States Military’s Department of Defense.  For her work, Dr. Guney was presented with the Young Investigator Award by the Prostate Cancer Foundation.  She identified numerous molecules that may be used in hormone refractory prostate cancer treatment and prostate cancer detection, and her findings have been patented.

Most recently, Dr. Güney worked as the Director of R&D at Bio Istanbul, a public-private partnership established to develop an integrated biomedical research park and innovation cluster under the auspices of the Ministry of Environment and Urbanization of the Republic of Turkey.

Dr. Güney is a founding member and Board Director of MIT Enterprise Forum Turkey, dedicated to strengthening regional technology clusters, supporting entrepreneurship and promoting the growth of an innovation economy in Turkey.  She also serves as a mentor to entrepreneurs at the Health Technologies Incubation Center of Inovita, a collaborative life sciences platform established by Bosphorus University, Sabancı University and Istanbul University.

Dr. Güney is Turkish and besides her mother tongue is fluent in English and Spanish.  She has lived in a number of cities around the world including The Hague, Boston, Havana and Singapore. She currently lives in Istanbul.
